My daughter Noe got me interested in succulents in early 2016 and ever since we've been on a quest!!! Naturally with so many new plants around, we needed pots to put all of them into. The typical pots you can buy from the big box stores just don't have character that suits these incredibly interesting plants. So we've both been making our own pottery. And now we're branching out into other plants - Aeroids, Orchids and Citrus!!! Check out what our green thumbs have been doing!!!

Grafting
Noe and I finally got the nerve up to make some grafts of the Gymnocalycium offshoots. After watching a few youtube videos, we felt pretty comfortable and started slicing and dicing.
Emerging Flower - Finally
When I first brought this cactus home (a Gymnocalycium, I think - from Lowes), it had these hot pink flower buds inset. I noticed one of them had FINALLY poked out after months of just sitting there -
Euphorbia esculenta in Flower
This one is popping!!! I had started to think it might be time to give this plant a big trim to accentuate the caudex. I guess I'll wait until this flowering is finished.

Fred Update - September 26th
As the summer sun is moving further south now, I've taken the liberty to move Fred further up onto the more well lit parts of the bench.
Check the previous post on this plant to see the growth its put on.
New Monadenium Offshoots
Both of my Monadeniums are putting out offshoots.
Some people say these grow fast. I'm not one of those some people. These offshoots have taken quite some time to develop.
Looky Looky!!!!
One of the Pedilanthus plants is pushing out a new shoot!!!
Yeah I know botanists have recently put this in the Euphorbia genus - but instead on going through and editing the posts on this blog, I'm going to stick with the old name. I'm just glad this showing more growth!

Gymnocalycium horstii
I don't know why it took so long for me to find this plant's scientific name... anyways - here is a Gymnocalycium horstii
Opuntia microdasys
I recently picked up a pot of this - it had two growth groups so Marlon and I split it.
UPDATE: I took these pictures yesterday - I know it is like watching grass grow, but I think it is growing fast...
