Checking Up on the Pseudobombax Plants

I think this is a new sprout coming off the red varient -

It's September and the reduction of daylight is noticeable - but this plant and the white variant are still pumping out new leaves.

Until these flower (hopefully next year) the difference between the red variant (above) and the white variant (next pictures) is the leaf arrangements - the red has groupings of 5 leaves and the white has groupings of 3 leaves.

The base of these plants, if kept underpotted, can swell up into a ball like structure - I'm going to keep this underpotted - 

When it drops it's leaves for the year, I'll repot it into a shallow bowl
