This batch was mostly glazed in Sun Valley and Carbon Trap Shino. I'll just let the pictures do the talking -
My daughter Noe got me interested in succulents in early 2016 and ever since we've been on a quest!!! Naturally with so many new plants around, we needed pots to put all of them into. The typical pots you can buy from the big box stores just don't have character that suits these incredibly interesting plants. So we've both been making our own pottery. And now we're branching out into other plants - Aeroids, Orchids and Citrus!!! Check out what our green thumbs have been doing!!!

More Pots 8/28/2017
Wanting to make the trip to the Hickam Ceramics shop worthwhile, Noe and I made a few more pieces. I actually made a couple more on Sunday evening - a square tapered pot and a round full body pot - but apparently I didn't take pictures of them.
If we are lucky, these will be out of the bisque firing by this Saturday afternoon (when I'm predicting the glaze firing will be done).

New Larger Pots
I've gotten to the point where I recognize that small pots are limiting. These are the first of the larger pots I'm going to be making over then next few weeks.
The upper parts are thinned out while the bottoms still have a little more thickness to the clay (relative to the top). This is so there is a lower center of gravity and the pots have a lot less propensity to topple over (BIG problem at the plant show).
These are pretty much the same shapes I have made before (I think they are aesthetically pleasing), just about 3 times bigger.

Ant Plant Mounts
Here are the Ant Plant Mounts - this first one has Turquoise Glaze brushed on.
Brushed on Opalescent Blue glaze
I've got to set these up with Hapuu pucks and some wire - then I'll post some pictures so you don't think these are soup spoons or a phallus of some sort -
Celadon Glazed Pots
These are incredible!!! This first one is a Short Full Body pot.
I really like this color combination.
This one is a U Body Pot. The iron in the clay totally pops out on this piece!
I really like this color combination.
Turquoise Glazed Narrow Fan Pot
This glaze firing produced some of the best reduction effects I have seen!!! This pot is almost solid turquoise!!!
Normally this glaze would have some gray areas - not this time!!! I couldn't be more pleased with how this one came out!

Christmas in July!!! Glazing Fire Run Done!!!
The last three loads of our pottery came out of the glaze firing yesterday! Here are Noe's pots -
And here are my pots (and other things like totoros and fishing lures) -
I'll post some of these individually - on the whole, this is probably the best batch I've gotten back from the ceramics shop to date!!! And just in time for the upcoming CSSH Show ;)

Mugs and Pots
Noe and I working on another batch of pottery using Rod's Bod clay. We made some mugs (me for coffee to replace an old "US Navy - Yokosuka Japan" mug that broke; Noe made a "Dragon Scale" mug for tea).

And I made more medium sized pots. I don't think I'll be making any small sized pots anymore as they are very limited in their use - plants just grow too quick to keep them in small pots for any length of time. These medium ones are good for grow out plus several months.

Moving up to larger ones will take me getting used to coil building (these medium and small ones are all pinched and are pretty much limited to the size of my hands - using coils will let me make really big pots, but from my experience, coils take much longer to make). I'll try to knock out a few more then make a drop off this weekend.
