Cyphostemma sp Madagascar Progress

The leaves are bright green now compared to the dark red they were back two months ago.  There is another set of leaves coming up from the existing trunk/stem.

I'd say the plant is coming along rather nicely.

Drosera binata Growing Again

I was given a large container full of various carnivorous plants back in January.  The Drosera capensis was growing pretty aggressively and taking over the container, so I repotted the Drosera binata plants into individual pots.  There was some die back, but after several weeks they are no coming back strong.

I'll post an update with pictures of the other plants - this is just the one that I didn't even pull from the main pot (got it at the Lyon Arboretum Sale).

Orchids from the Ewa Orchid Society Plant Show

I picked up a few orchids from the Plant Sale La and I were at this past weekend (we were helping Perla with her plant sales).  Here's what I got -

The leaves of this one are like cucumbers.  It is a slow grower, but stays pretty compact.

I liked the description of this one - "grows like a weed".  Dendrochilum filiforme - this is going to be my confidence booster.

And Aerangis hariotiana - it too is supposed to stay compact.  I've purposely stayed away from orchids - as in my mind they are too picky on care requirements and need more water than I care to provide - but after doing some research, some species are actually more similar to succulents and cactus than I thought.  Anyways - here I go....

Pachycentria glauca

I've had these seedlings for several weeks now - mind you I did not germinate them, but they have finally put out a new set leaves.

Over the past few weeks, I've also learned that these plants really like strong sunlight.  I'm trying to conceptualize a mount for these (currently thinking coconut husks wired to a cedar plank).

More Ant Plant Seeds... Are these Ever Going to Stop???

My Ant Plants won't stop fruiting...

That's not a bad thing, but I do feel compelled to plant all the seeds and give the plants a chance.  And now that I'm thinking about it - the window sills are starting to fill up with recycled take out food containers.

I like it!!!

Euphorbia platyclada Update

Update on the E. platyclada -

I have three cuttings of this plant growing in different containers.  Getting it to take off has been trying... they are on their own time - but there has been incremental progress.

Gymnocalycium Fruit

This makes me want to eat it!

Cyphostemma sp Madagascar Seed

I have been keeping an eye on this seed on the Cyphostemma sp Madagascar.  It finally dried out and was ready to harvest off the plant.

I planted it this morning in a 2" pot of Black Gold C&S soil mix just over a seed width deep and watered it thoroughly.  I'll keep track of this seed's progress as I'm not sure how many of these plants are out there.
