Some Flower Vases in the Works

I started another cycle of ceramics wheel throwing classes again. This time I opted for a darker clay - "Jamaica". It throws nicely and it feels like it has less grog than Soldate 60 and Rod's Bod. The class is filled with students with experience, so our instructor didn't start with the usual centering and cylinder instruction. He gave a demo on how to transform a cylinder into a bulbous bodied, long neck vessel (vase). This involved the use of a firm rib. I have some work to do on the bulbous part, and even more work to get the neck to pull - but regardless I like these two vases.
